Altis Recruitment is seeking a Human Resources Consultant to work closely with our client, in the health care sector on a permanent basis. The successful incumbent will collaborate with the HR team to deliver strategic support, guidance, and leadership to both management and staff. This position will utilize a client-focused approach, acting as a single point of contact for HR services with an emphasis on Labour and Employee Relations.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Act as a strategic advisor to management and staff, providing expert HR consultation and leadership.
- Focus on Labour and Employee Relations, delivering tailored solutions and guidance.
- Lead and manage HR projects, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic objectives.
- Build strong partnerships with management to align HR services with business needs.
- Design and implement HR programs and processes that drive organizational success.
- Manage complex employee relations issues, including conducting workplace investigations.
- Foster positive and collaborative relationships with union partners and stakeholders.
Qualifications and Skills
- 5+ years of advanced HR experience with a focus on employee and labour relations.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an unionized setting.
- Strong understanding of employment legislation, including the Employment Standards Act, WSIB, Human Rights Code, AODA, Labour Relations Act, and Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Experience in a consultative HR service model is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to build and sustain effective relationships with clients and union representatives.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or a related discipline.
