Job Title: Senior Project Manager
Contract Length: 12 Months
Location: Toronto, Ontario (2-3 days on site)
Pay Rate: $52-$62/Hr (T4), $65-$75/Hr (INC)
Job Description:
We are seeking a proactive and dynamic Project Manager with experience in the banking sector to join our team. This role requires a highly engaged professional who can manage projects end-to-end while understanding their broader scope and impact. The ideal candidate is not just a by-the-book project manager but someone who can anticipate risks, analyze challenges, and think critically to deliver effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage banking-related projects, ensuring on-time delivery within budget and quality standards.
- Actively engage with stakeholders to understand project goals, objectives, and scope, while fostering strong relationships.
- Identify and address data-related deficiencies, collaborating with technical teams to ensure data integrity and quality.
- Evaluate project risks, propose mitigation strategies, and adapt plans as necessary to ensure successful execution.
- Drive communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment on project goals and deliverables.
- Demonstrate a hands-on approach to project management, immersing yourself in the project to ensure a thorough understanding of workflows, dependencies, and potential risks.
- Develop and present detailed project plans, reports, and updates to stakeholders and senior management.
- Serve as a problem solver and critical thinker, addressing challenges with creativity and a forward-looking mindset.
- Ensure adherence to banking regulations, compliance standards, and organizational policies throughout the project lifecycle.
Must-Have Skills and Experience:
Project Management Expertise:
- Proven experience managing projects within a banking environment.
- Ability to oversee complex workflows, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
Commercial Banking Knowledge:
- In-depth understanding of commercial banking operations, products, and processes.
Lending and Data Experience:
- Experience with lending processes is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of data management concepts, including identifying and addressing data deficiencies (hands-on data work is not required).
Stakeholder Management:
- Excellent emotional intelligence (EQ) to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and build strong relationships.
- Ability to communicate technical and business concepts effectively to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
Critical Thinking and Problem Solving:
- Street-smart with the ability to foresee challenges, analyze risks, and think outside the box to identify innovative solutions.
- Capable of adapting to changing project dynamics and resolving issues in real-time.
Engagement and Ownership:
- Fully engaged and invested in understanding the scope, dependencies, and nuances of projects.
- Demonstrates a hands-on, collaborative approach to project management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of lending data workflows and related systems.
- Familiarity with banking regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
- Certification in project management methodologies (PMP, Agile, etc.).
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
