Job Responsibilities:
- Expedite and follow up on open purchase orders
- Update and maintain ERP system with accurate data
- Collaborate closely with sales team and shop floor personnel
- Assist in various clerical tasks related to purchasing
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings
- Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Support inventory management and control
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Contribute to process improvements in the purchasing department
- Assist in cost analysis and vendor negotiations
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Requirements:
- 1-3 years of experience in purchasing, preferably in a manufacturing or machine shop environment or a bachelors degree is Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
- Entry level candidates with strong internship experience will be considered.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and ERP systems
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
