Nesco Resource is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Safety Specialist to join our client’s team! You'll play a pivotal role in fostering a safe and compliant work environment. You will design, implement, and manage comprehensive health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs to ensure our operations meet all regulatory standards while promoting a culture of safety.

Shift: Monday – Friday 2pm-10pm

Position Type: Contract to hire

Location: Anderson, SC

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations by developing, updating, and maintaining policies and procedures.
• Deliver safety training programs, including emergency preparedness and compliance requirements, while identifying and mitigating workplace risks.
• Conduct incident investigations to determine root causes, recommend corrective measures, and analyze safety data to inform decisions and stakeholder reports.
• Perform routine site inspections and audits to assess compliance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Develop and implement emergency response strategies tailored to workplace scenarios.
• Oversee waste management practices to ensure proper disposal methods meet regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

• 2-4 years of professional experience in HSE, with at least one year in an EHS Coordinator role.
• Experience with risk assessments, incident analysis, and regulatory compliance is crucial.
• Effective collaboration and communication across diverse teams and organizational levels.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with root cause analysis and regulatory compliance tools.
• Willingness to travel occasionally, up to once a year.

Preferred Education and Certifications:

• OSHA 30 Certification preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
