Supply Chain Manager

Direct-Hire


Position Overview:

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for overseeing customer relations and the end-to-end supply chain process, including material resource planning, purchasing, inventory management, and demand forecasting. This role is pivotal in optimizing costs, enhancing efficiency, and ensuring seamless operations to meet customer demands.


Key Responsibilities:

Planning & Forecasting:

  • Lead a planning team responsible for scheduling, inventory control, and forecasting raw materials and finished goods.
  • Analyze supply chain operations to identify opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency improvements, and lead time optimization.
  • Streamline manufacturing processes to enhance time and workflow efficiency.

Supplier Relations & Procurement:

  • Manage supplier relationships, develop partnerships with key vendors, and negotiate pricing and contracts as needed.
  • Monitor raw material cost fluctuations and assist in preparing and implementing corresponding customer price adjustments.
  • Oversee pricing strategies for select product lines and maintain pricing databases accurately.

Communication & Leadership:

  • Communicate challenges, concerns, and viable solutions effectively to upper management.
  • Recruit, hire, mentor, and train staff within the customer service, planning, and purchasing teams. Arrange appropriate training opportunities as needed.

Additional Duties:

  • Maintain consistent travel (approximately 25%).
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned by the manager.


Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operational Management, Supply Chain, or a related business discipline (Master’s degree preferred).
  • A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

Experience:

  • 5-7 years of experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment (10 years of combined supply chain or operational management experience preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with accounts receivable/accounts payable and QuickBooks ERP is a plus.

Skills:

  • Proven leadership, team-building, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional project management, planning, and change management skills.
  • High proficiency in computer applications, particularly the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage confidential information effectively.


Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience in manufacturing and QuickBooks ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with pricing strategies and database maintenance.
