Lakeshore Talent is partnering with a leading organization to find a skilled and experienced Data Architect to lead data architecture initiatives and manage a team of data engineers using Microsoft Azure and related technologies. This role focuses on designing scalable and secure data systems while driving team success and collaboration. This role offers a competitive salary of up to $168,000 depending on experience.
Primary Responsibilities
Design and Implement Data Architecture:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive data architecture strategy using Microsoft Azure.
- Design data models, database schemas, and data warehouses to meet business needs.
- Ensure alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.
Data Management:
- Oversee data integration, migration, and quality initiatives.
- Implement and manage data governance policies.
- Monitor and optimize data systems for performance and scalability.
Team Leadership:
- Manage and mentor a team of data engineers and analysts.
- Assign tasks, set goals, and ensure project milestones are achieved.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand data requirements.
- Translate business needs into actionable technical specifications.
- Present data architecture plans and updates to executive teams.
Security and Compliance:
- Ensure data security and compliance with regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Implement data privacy measures and access controls.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Certifications:
- Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer).
Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in data architecture and management.
- 5+ years in a managerial role.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Azure data services (e.g., Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics).
- Expertise in data modeling, database design, and data warehousing.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and big data technologies.
- Experience with data science and enterprise data modeling (e.g., star schemas, data warehouses).
Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
