Job Summary:
The Technical Writer will create and manage comprehensive documentation, training materials, and deployment guides for technical and non-technical audiences. This role requires collaboration with technical staff to interpret complex information and present it in a clear, accessible format. The ideal candidate will have experience producing high-quality materials, developing graphics, and leveraging various communication channels to meet team and customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and organize highly technical subject matter into clear, comprehensible documentation.
- Develop and format technical reports, manuals, and training materials using established style guides.
- Create and integrate diagrams, engineering drawings, and illustrations into documentation.
- Collaborate with technical staff to interpret information for diverse audiences.
- Provide input on document formats, communication channels, and delivery methods.
- Utilize tools such as Adobe Captivate for audio or video content editing.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and high-quality outputs with attention to detail.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- 4+ years in technical writing, editing, and proofing technical materials (e.g., white papers, manuals, instructions).
- Familiarity with style guides and formatting of technical documentation.
- Experience with SharePoint administration is a plus.
- Previous work with government organizations is highly desirable.
- Strong ability to create visuals, such as diagrams and graphics, for technical content.
- Proficiency in audio/video editing tools (preferably Adobe Captivate).
- Exceptional collaboration and communication skills.
