Our Client, a Global Investment Bank, is seeking a Futures Clearing Consultant in their Chicago, IL location.
*Must be willing to work in shift 2am- 8am or 12pm - 8pm
Overview:
The Futures Division clears trades across 30 global exchanges and reconciles over 70 balance sheets. The Clearing team is responsible for managing all client and executing broker-cleared trades, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining operational efficiency. This role requires a strong, motivated individual to perform top-day clearing functions and support the broader operations team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all trades are cleared, allocated, and booked correctly in client accounts on trade date.
- Liaise with exchanges, carry brokers, and clients to address trade issues and exceptions.
- Perform tasks such as:
- Order ticket checking.
- Expiring options monitoring.
- Maintaining static data (e.g., contact setups in GMI and Middle Office system LISA).
- Conduct position maintenance and closeouts on exchanges and carry brokers.
- Handle internal and external position transfers.
- Perform various checks, including offsets, top-day reconciliations (using DUCO), settlement prices, and more, prior to end-of-day processing.
- Collaborate closely with Balancers, Client Service Group, and Deliveries team within Operations.
- Respond promptly to queries from exchanges and regulators.
- Maintain updated procedures, checklists, and contact information.
- Work flexibly, including on U.S. holidays, on a rotational basis.
Qualifications/Skills:
- 3+ years of experience in Futures & Options, with knowledge of GMI and LISA systems.
- Understanding of various exchange clearing systems, such as ICE FEC, ECS, FEC+, OCC, EUREX, and EEX.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and problem-solving abilities.
- Dynamic and proactive team player with a focus on improving processes for capacity, efficiency, and control.
- Self-starter with proven initiative and strong time management skills to meet critical deadlines.

Education:
- A degree is preferred, but relevant Futures & Options experience is most critical.
