Job Summary
Supports day-to-day technical questions from various teams within Consumer Affairs and explains information in terms that would help with case progression. Manages internal mailbox to filter needed technical information to Consumer Affairs related to various recalls and/or campaigns. Acts as internal consultant providing technical expertise on all Client vehicles.
B. Job Responsibilities
* Maintains full knowledge of business-specific technical knowledge.
* Conducts internal user interviews in order to develop creative and effective solutions to meet business needs.
*Collaborates with internal customers, vendors, industry consultants, and department management to support technical needs.
* Identifies and obtains resources necessary to successfully facilitate technical training.
* Effectively communicates technical knowledge and updates to department, senior management and others as needed.
* Monitors and provides recommended solutions for consumer affairs cases that are created and have a recent warranty denial
* Manages the ECW hotline for dealer claims questions that come through the designated 1-800 #
* Attends the engineering meetings to have the most recent countermeasure information for vehicle concerns that may arise
* Develops business relationships and integrates activities with business units and other departments to ensure the successful implementation and support of technical projects.
* As necessary, performs other related duties of which the above are representative.
1. Job Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of relevant business processes and systems, and of applicable technical software.
Strong communication skills including demonstrated ability to coordinate tasks, influence relationships, and manage time to meet customer/client needs.
Strong analytical and decision-making skills. Strong organizational, oral, written and presentation skills.
2. Years of Experience:
At least five years professional experience in a technical/automotive setting. Can be dealership including technician, service writer, etc.
3. Education
Bachelor's degree desirable but not required.
4. Specific Course/Certifications
Thorough computer knowledge such as word processor, spreadsheet, other PC applications, or mainframe applications to resolve complex problems in day-to-day situations.
5. Travel Required?
Occasional day or overnight travel may be required - minimal.
