Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Construction Project Manager to oversee and manage the successful execution of commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, clients, and vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Coordination:
- Lead and manage all phases of commercial construction projects from pre-construction through completion.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders and clients.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other professionals to ensure seamless project execution.
- Budget & Cost Management:
- Develop, manage, and monitor project budgets, ensuring cost control and avoiding overruns.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and manage change orders throughout the lifecycle of the project.
- Review and approve invoices from subcontractors and vendors, ensuring alignment with project budgets.
- Team Leadership & Supervision:
- Lead, motivate, and manage project teams, ensuring the efficient allocation of resources.
- Supervise subcontractors and field personnel to ensure compliance with safety standards, quality control, and project timelines.
- Maintain strong communication with the project team, ensuring clear expectations and smooth project progression.
- Quality & Safety Assurance:
- Ensure all construction work meets safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and ensure compliance with design specifications and safety protocols.
- Implement corrective actions to address any quality or safety issues that arise during the project.
- Client Relations & Communication:
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, addressing concerns, providing updates, and managing expectations.
- Provide regular project status reports, including progress, delays, and any potential risks.
- Foster strong, positive relationships with clients, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure satisfaction and future business opportunities.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, including contingency planning.
- Resolve project issues and conflicts promptly, escalating them as necessary to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in commercial construction project management.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale commercial projects, including office buildings, retail spaces, and industrial complexes.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, contracts, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Proficient in project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, MS Project).
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Strong financial acumen and ability to manage budgets and costs effectively.
- Certifications (Preferred):
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
- LEED accreditation or similar green building certifications.
- OSHA 30-hour certification or equivalent safety training.
