Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Nurse Manager to lead our Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg) Department. This role requires a motivated professional with exceptional leadership skills, clinical expertise, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care. The Nurse Manager will oversee the daily operations of the department, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards, fostering staff development, and driving performance excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and direction to the Med-Surg team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence in patient care.
- Oversee the daily operations of the department, including staffing, scheduling, and resource management.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
- Monitor and evaluate patient outcomes, implementing quality improvement initiatives to enhance care delivery.
- Serve as a mentor and advocate for nursing staff, promoting professional development, education, and certification opportunities.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective communication, coordination, and continuity of care.
- Manage the department budget, controlling costs while maintaining high standards of care and service.
- Address patient and family concerns with professionalism and sensitivity, ensuring a patient-centered approach to care.
- Participate in strategic planning and contribute to the overall success of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s in Nursing (MSN) or Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Licensure: Current RN license in GA required.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience in a Medical-Surgical setting and 2+ years in a leadership role.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required. Certification in Medical-Surgical Nursing (CMSRN) or Nurse Executive Certification (NE-BC) preferred.
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead, inspire, and manage a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
