Position Title: Service Unit Department Manager RN - Interventional Radiology/Medical Imaging

Location: Santa Rosa, CA

Job Type: Permanent

Salary: USD $180,500 – $210,000 per year

Position Overview:

The Service Unit Department Manager for Interventional Radiology/Medical Imaging is responsible for overseeing the operations of one or more units providing ambulatory services. This leadership role ensures high-quality, cost-effective, and patient-focused care across the continuum while complying with local, state, and federal regulations. The manager will be instrumental in staff development, budgeting, and maintaining clinical practice standards within the department.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Interventional Radiology and Medical Imaging departments, ensuring high-quality, compliant patient care.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare providers to establish, implement, and maintain care and service standards.
  • Serve as a patient advocate, resolving patient care issues and ensuring a high level of patient satisfaction.
  • Design and evaluate processes to improve patient care and operational efficiencies.
  • Develop and monitor departmental budgets, resource allocations, and financial performance.
  • Implement strategies to reduce costs while maintaining or improving quality of care.
  • Hire, train, and maintain the competency of staff, ensuring an appropriate mix and level of expertise.
  • Resolve human resources, labor relations, and safety issues within the department.
  • Develop and enforce departmental policies and procedures in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with the Physician Team Leader and Department Chief to manage day-to-day operations and set patient service levels.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience in management/leadership roles.
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience.

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related health field (or 4 years of equivalent experience).

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Registered Nurse License (California).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • PALS, PEARS, and/or ACLS certifications may be required for specific departments.

Additional Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the Nurse Practice Act, The Joint Commission, and local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an outpatient care setting.
  • Clinical specialization in Interventional Radiology or Medical Imaging.
  • Master's degree in a related field.
