Duties: Prepare written responses to civil pre-trial discovery for personal injury cases:

• Prepare written evaluations with recommendations to supervising attorney and partners based on research of the case and knowledge of the defendant.

• Read through volumes of deposition testimony and various other documents to obtain and analyze relevant information needed for discovery responses.

• Draft meet and confer correspondence letters and electronic communications to opposing counsel.

• Contact clients by phone or electronic communication to interview.

• Special Interrogatories; Requests for Production of Documents; Requests for Admission; and Judicial Council Form Interrogatories.

Knowledge, Skill and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree required.

• Interest in the legal field, prior law firm experience a plus.

• Computer proficiency and excellent word processing skills required; Type 65+ wpm, experience using WordPerfect a plus.

• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking required.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proper e-mail and phone etiquette.

• Exceptional research, reading comprehension, and writing skills, legal research writing experience a plus.

• Ability to synthesize large amounts of information into a coherent story.

• Exceptional organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple assignments effectively and handle a high volume of work in a deadline driven environment.
