Job description:
Provide technical expertise, user support, and troubleshooting for biology- and chemistry-focused scientific applications. Act as a bridge between researchers and IT teams, ensuring software tools meet scientific workflow needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Support:
- Provide support for scientific applications, addressing issues and inquiries.
- Troubleshoot performance, functionality, and integration problems.
- Manage tickets and requests with Discovery R&D IT.
- Application Management:
- Install, configure, and maintain scientific software.
- Manage updates, patches, and ensure software compliance.
- Create user training guides and technical documentation.
- Collaboration:
- Liaise between scientists, IT, and vendors for application enhancements.
- Collaborate with business analysts for new application requests.
- Stay updated on emerging scientific application technologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a scientific field, computer science, or related discipline.
- Proficiency in Linux, Windows, macOS, and scripting languages (Python, R, Bash).
- Familiarity with scientific tools (e.g., Pipeline Pilot, LIMS, Spotfire).
- 5+ years of experience supporting scientists in the pharma/biotech industry preferred.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
