Role: U.S. and Europe Regional Counsel
Location: San Jose, CA (Hybrid)
Key Responsibilities:
- Serves as the primary legal counsel for US and Europe Regions to provide legal advice on all aspects of employment law matters throughout the employee lifecycle, including employment policies and contracts, performance issues, severance, employee benefits, anti-discrimination/harassment, wage and hour, compliance and reporting, and other laws regulating employment.
- Ensures legal compliance in areas such as data protection, corporate maintenance, securities law compliance, and global policy initiatives.
- Responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of business contracts.
- Conducts due diligence on M&A deals, advising on employment issues, managing outside counsel advice, and building internal processes around employment diligence.
- Supports subpoenas and related requests for employee records and information.
- Assists with supporting existing and potential litigation and internal investigations as needed.
Qualifications:
- JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Admission to the bar in at least one US state, with a preference for CA or TX.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant legal experience, including in-house roles.
- Employment law experience across jurisdictions, including internationally (e.g. Europe)
- Superior legal writing skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred experience in the technology industry.
- Demonstrated judgment, personal integrity, and discretion regarding confidential matters.
- Team player with a collaborative attitude and a positive approach to problem-solving.
Salary range: $220,000 - $300,000
Employee may be eligible for performance bonus, short and long term incentive programs. Actual total compensation will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience and qualifications.
