Senior Procurement Specialist

Location: Florence, KY

Travel Requirement: 10-15%

Pay: $80,000 - $100,000

Position Overview:

As a Senior Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for sourcing heavy equipment and non-serialized production components, developing strong supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of materials. You will work closely with internal teams to implement cost reduction initiatives and continuous improvements in the supply chain. This position offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your technical purchasing skills and supplier development experience to make a significant impact on our organization's success.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers for heavy equipment and non-serialized production components, including light to heavy welded steel and structural profile components.
  • Conduct regular supplier assessments to ensure compliance with quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
  • Lead strategic sourcing initiatives to optimize costs and improve supplier performance.
  • Develop data analytics reports and cost reduction projects, while continuously seeking new supplier development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with engineering and internal teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain.
  • Create, release, and manage purchasing orders for customer projects.
  • Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Stay informed on market trends, industry best practices, and technological advancements in the sector.


Strategic Sourcing & Analysis:

  • Utilize data analysis techniques such as ABC Analysis, Pareto Principle, Krajilic Matrix, Cost-Benefit Analysis, and Vendor Performance Analysis to drive decisions and enhance supplier performance.
  • Analyze global economic trends, geopolitical factors, and other external influences that may impact the supply chain.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical purchasing for heavy equipment and non-serialized production.
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and strategic sourcing skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel; Power BI or similar tools is a plus.
  • Experience with SAP is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster collaborative relationships.
