The Construction Superintendent will oversee on-site coordination for all phases of construction projects. This includes managing subcontractors, materials, and equipment while ensuring strict adherence to project specifications, schedules, and budgets. The Superintendent is responsible for scheduling, inspections, quality control, and job site safety.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors to meet critical project timelines.
- Ensure quality control by monitoring the work being performed.
- Communicate effectively with the project team regarding progress and issues.
- Ensure subcontractors fully execute and comply with their contractual obligations.
- Coordinate required inspections with local authorities.
- Identify and address subcontractor non-compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards.
- Resolve construction conflicts by communicating with the project team.
- Maintain a written daily log of job site activities.
- Manage superintendent duties across multiple job sites simultaneously.
- Conduct daily site walkthroughs to monitor progress and assist with planning.
- Lead weekly subcontractor meetings to align on work coordination.
- Maintain a clean and organized job site at all times.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Support budgeting, bidding, and subcontract awards.
- Assist with obtaining permits and approving revisions.
- Collect and manage project material submittals and approval records.
- Identify and address work areas outside the subcontracted scope.
- Lead pre-construction meetings with subcontractors.
- Open the job site at the start of the day and secure it at day's end.
- Support hiring efforts for sub-tier employees.
This role requires proactive management, strong communication, and organizational skills to ensure successful project delivery within scope, schedule, and budget.
