Summary
This position leads/drives the production process in support of our business objectives. The OSL will help drive continuous improvement throughout the facility and help support timely and cost-effective execution of operation plans. This position also has direct oversight over certain supporting functions such as purchasing, facilities maintenance, logistics/shipping, and EHS.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Supports production teams to enable high utilization, intensity of work, efficient work methods, and quality of product to ensure customer expectations and delivery are met.
- Provides direct guidance on enabling operation support functions, such as procurement and logistics, while working with cross-functional teams to ensure customer expectations are met around quality and delivery.
- Works with business segment operation managers to drive continuous improvement strategies through Kaizen events and Lean manufacturing efforts.
- Supports the operation plans to improve efficiency/productivity and gain cost reduction.
- Leads the coordination & execution of ISO and customer audits.
- Supports quality teams to enable best practices around quality inspection & assurance.
- Helps deliver supplier conformance to necessary quality standards.
- Balances competing priorities to achieve the most effective overall output.
- Supports implementation of capital projects that impact production facility & grounds.
- Stresses the importance of Safety by working with EHS to execute a robust Safety Program that includes, but not limited, Safety Meetings and Safety Training that encourages all employees to not only work in a safe manner, etc.
- Ensures the timely and accurate reporting of operation metrics.
- Uses 80/20 approach in optimizing functional areas.
- Participates in Budget preparation, including Salary Administration.
- Ensures that all policies and procedures are conducted in accordance with the Company's Affirmative Action Program and Employee policies and procedures.
- Partners with HR to achieve consistent and reasonable personnel practices including job descriptions, personnel reviews, wage practices and training.
- Ability to hire, develop, discipline and mentor personnel.
- Assists in the training of personnel to promote growth and career progression.
Qualifications and Educational Requirements
- BS in Manufacturing/Industrial Management/Industrial Engineering preferred or commensurate experience, with a minimum of 5 to 7 years of manufacturing experience in an electro-mechanical environment. ISO and ERP experience a plus.
