Senior Embedded RF Antenna Engineer – Morrisville, NC -- hybrid
Our Morrisville, NC client is seeking a dynamic Senior Embedded RF/Antenna Design Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for the architecture and design of RF circuitry from the transceiver to antenna, including the selection or design of applicable antenna, filter design, antenna matching, optimizations, system level design and evaluation, and coordination with external design/test entities to successfully implement your designs.
Our client is a full-service engineering firm specializing in the design and development of low-power, wireless IoT devices. Since conception, they established as leaders in the electrical engineering field and have won multiple awards for their unique work. This is a permanent opportunity with a great benefit package. The selected candidate will work a hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office (one of them always being Monday). For this hybrid opportunity in Morrisville, NC, there is no relocation assistance or C2C consideration
Responsibilities:
• Perform project-based tasks in a manner to meet or exceed internal and customer expectations. Tasks may include hardware or software development, test tasks, as well as documentation, high-level design, and brainstorming.
• Take ownership of project technical solutions.
• Provide mentorship and technical supervision to junior staff.
• Participate in and lead project, customer, and other meetings in a collaborative and professional manner.
• Maintain a professional, team-oriented attitude.
• Generate weekly status reports to assess progress and document technical status and potential risk of all current projects.
• Work with the management team to resolve problems and evolve processes and procedures to improve quality and efficiency.
Requirements:
• Bachelor of Science (or equivalent degree / certification) in relevant field with 10+ years of experience
• Experience with embedded RF/Antenna design
• Experience in system design and mechanical impacts on RF/Antenna performance
• Ability to perform RF performance budget analysis
• Design, schematic capture and layout of electronic circuits, RF transmission lines and embedded antennas (Altium preferred)
• Ability to operate network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, base station simulators, and other relevant laboratory equipment
• Familiarity with small form factor and wearable devices
• Familiarity with Bluetooth/BLE, WiFi, LoRA (+WAN), RFID/NFC, Cellular (LTE), GPS/GNSS solutions and vendors
• Experience with antenna performance testing (patterns, active/passive testing)
• Familiarity with EMC/EMI/SAR/PTCRB requirements and testing
• Demonstrated design of PA/LNA matching networks
• Demonstrated experience writing functional specifications
• Baseband and analog design experience (preferred experience)
