Midsize national law firm is seeking a Director of Information Technology for their Dallas location. This is a sophisticated law firm with hundreds of employees. They handle high level work for major clients and are considered leaders in their practice area(s). Position description below. Excellent salary (up to $325,000 or more - depending on the candidate), plus bonus, excellent benefits, PTO, and culture. You will have all the necessary tools at your disposal to handle this role.
Responsible for all technology utilized by the Firm, including systems for information, voice & video all firm offices and colocation facility. Management of a staff including areas of:helpdesk, technician, network engineering, litigation support, training, business graphics & project management roles. Development & application of information technologies like voice over IP telephony, video conferencing, MPLS wide area networking, WAN optimization, de-duplication, data & server virtualization, file, web, email, database & specialty servers to the business of the Firm.
Essential Duties:
- Determine future course for Firm for information, video and voice platforms.
- Design & manage security solutions.
- Oversee the configuration & administration of technology systems.
- Oversee the design, upgrading, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of voice over IP telephony systems, including voice gateways, voicemail & phone switch hardware & software.
- Oversee the design, upgrading, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of virtualization platforms for server & desktops; including storage area networks.
- Network design and capacity planning, including LAN, WAN, carrier and vendor relationships.
- Messaging system design and implementation, including outsourcing evaluation, upgrade planning & implementation and administration.
- Conduct research on technology products, services, protocols and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts.
- Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers and contractors to secure technology products and services.
- Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for network resource administration, appropriate use and disaster recovery.
- Work with the Firm and other technical staff to establish & maintain service level agreements for IT delivery, availability & uptime.
- Perform IT security audits, acting as Firm's security administrator and advise the Executive Director of potential security threats and lapses.
- Provide guidance & knowledge transfer, when appropriate, to other members of the IT Department.

Extensive expertise in the legal technology environment and significant experience in the application of information technology to non-law firm environments.
- Broad expertise in the law firm technology field and in the application of information technology for the legal environment.
- Advanced technical knowledge encompassing a broad range of technologies, protocols and standards.
- Significant knowledge of messaging system, practices and protocols and their role in the Firm’s IT infrastructure.
- Solid understanding of the Firm's goals and objectives.
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.

Education:
- 4 year college or university degree, in the field of computer science or business computing and/or 10+ years equivalent work experience.
Working Conditions:
- Availability after Firm hours as required.
