Position Summary:
The Media Planner will support local media planning and strategy functions, ensuring accurate budget management and media activity execution. The role involves maintaining strong client relationships, developing local media strategies, and supervising junior staff. Reporting to the Supervisor, Local Tactical Planning, this position plays a key role in achieving client objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Local Tactical Planning: Develop and execute localized media strategies to meet client goals.
- Media Evaluation: Assess media vehicles and performance to optimize audience reach and campaign effectiveness.
- Data Analysis: Interpret marketing and research data to inform tactical planning.
- Budget Management: Maintain accurate budget control and provide consistent updates to clients.
- Collaboration: Work closely with supervisors to develop and present media recommendations.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and motivate junior staff, ensuring high-quality output.
- Diversity Advocacy: Incorporate multicultural and inclusive perspectives into media plans.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3+ years in media planning/strategy, with local and agency experience preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in media tools (Nielsen, Kantar, Prisma, etc.), Microsoft Suite, and data analysis software.
- Knowledge: Strong cross-channel media expertise and understanding of activation/negotiation functions.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to present to clients and internal teams.
- Leadership: Experience in training and managing staff effectively.
