We are seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer for our mechanical engineering group who will make an impact across the business. This person will step into a position of technical leadership within our team of talented, ambitious mechanical engineers and collaborate with our software & systems engineers as well as industrial design and user experience teams. Your expertise is fundamental to developing products that align with business and user requirements while efficiently managing potential risks. This role involves early concept development and definition of electromechanical systems, prototype design, build and evaluation, providing guidance to less experienced team members, reviewing and signing off on design outputs. Key Responsibilities:

· Design and develop new mechanical and mechatronic systems.

· Lead and mentor junior engineers in the design of linkages, drivetrains and robotic systems.

· Plan and oversee small projects or subsystem work streams, ensuring successful completion.

· Drive a robust technical development process; review and approve work of junior engineers.

· Conduct and/or oversee analysis to optimize product performance.

· Inform materials, process selection and DfM considerations for parts and assemblies.

· Demonstrate a passion for continuous learning and contribute to knowledge sharing.

· Employ creative problem-solving skills to address complex challenges.

· Effectively communicate ideas and concepts, delivering compelling presentations to internal and external customers.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in mechanical, robotics, or other related engineering discipline.

· Minimum 8 years’ experience, 2+ leading technical teams and projects.

· Proven experience in mechanism and electromechanical system design.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

· Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic, collaborative environment.
