In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of laboratory operations related to quality assurance and control, in accordance with the ISO9001 and ISO17025 quality management system, including regulating compliance and documentation, as well as annual audit leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain QA/QC program at all locations (Minnesota & Ontario, Canada) in alignment with regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO17025, ISO9001, industry best practices, and local standards).
- Establish and regularly review standard operating procedures (SOPs) and other quality documents to ensure consistency, accuracy, and quality of laboratory work.
- Ensure the laboratory is prepared for and passes audits (e.g., internal, client initiated external, or ISO certification/accreditation).
- Oversee the implementation of corrective actions for non-compliance or deficiencies identified during audits, inspections, or regular operations.
- Monitor and evaluate laboratory performance using key quality metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversees preparation and maintenance of proper documentation for quality records and certifications.
- Manage data quality control procedures for analysis to ensure integrity, accuracy, and completeness of all results.
- Provide ongoing training and development on quality standards, regulatory updates, and best practices.
- Develop QA/QC training for staff as part of new staff on board and continuous improvement.
- Facilitate team collaboration to ensure QA/QC processes are integrated across operations and locations.
- Track and report on staff performance regarding QA/QC to Laboratory Director.
- Review and approve laboratory results for accuracy and compliance with QA/QC protocols.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Sensory Science, environmental science or related fields preferred.
- Experience managing a laboratory team
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
