Job Role:
Under the direction of the Educational Administrator and daily supervision of the Team Leader, you will develop and implement engaging, customized curricula for students with a variety of learning needs. You’ll collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including clinical staff, to ensure each student has the support they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Classroom Supervision : Lead and manage both students and classroom staff, fostering a positive, productive learning environment.
- IEP Development & Implementation : Play an integral role in creating and refining Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), integrating specific goals and objectives into dynamic lesson plans.
- Curriculum Design : Adapt and modify curriculum to meet the unique needs of each student while aligning with Massachusetts State Curriculum Frameworks.
- Collaboration & Teamwork : Work closely with clinical staff to identify and address student challenges, ensuring comprehensive support for every student.
- Social-Emotional Support : Provide social and emotional guidance to students throughout the day, including during non-academic periods like lunch and sensory breaks.
- Progress Monitoring : Write quarterly progress reports, track student development, and communicate with families to share academic achievements and needs.
Qualifications:
- Certification : Massachusetts DESE certification in Special Education, Elementary Education, or relevant content area (may consider waiver for exceptional candidates).
- Education : Bachelor’s, Post-Bachelor’s, or Master’s Degree in Special Education, Education, Psychology, or a related field.
