We are seeking a motivated and skilled Budget Analyst with extensive experience in DoD Financial Management to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong educational background, significant professional experience, and a proven ability to manage and execute financial and programmatic activities effectively. Preference will be given to candidates with professional certifications in project and financial management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage financial activities to support organizational objectives, ensuring compliance with DoD financial policies and procedures.
- Develop, monitor, and analyze budgets for DoD programs, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and supporting effective space program execution.
- Provide expert-level budget analysis and financial management support, including cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting for space-related programs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights, forecasts, and reports on program performance and budget status.
- Utilize financial tools and software (including CCAR, FM Suite, and WAWF) to track and manage program costs, obligations, schedules, and performance.
- Prepare detailed financial reports, summaries, and presentations for stakeholders, senior leadership, and other key decision-makers.
- Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance program efficiency, financial accuracy, and effectiveness.
- Support the financial close process for space programs and ensure timely submission of budget-related reports and documents.
- Advise on financial trends, risks, and opportunities, providing recommendations for adjustments to budgets and financial processes.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field such as Management, Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Science, Technology, Engineering, or Statistics.
- Note: Six (6) years of directly relevant experience may substitute for a baccalaureate degree.
- A minimum of 3 years of directly applicable experience in DoD Financial Management, including significant experience with budgeting, cost analysis, and financial reporting.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in financial tools, reporting systems, and Microsoft Office applications, particularly advanced Excel skills for budget analysis and reporting.
- Familiarity with DoD financial management regulations, policies, and procedures, particularly for space-related programs and lifecycle management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with financial management tools such as CCAR, FM Suite, and WAWF.
- Familiarity with DoD acquisition, procurement, and cost accounting standards (CAS), especially as they apply to space programs.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM) or similar financial management or project management certifications.
- Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional), FM (Financial Management), or CDFM (Certified Defense Financial Manager).
- Demonstrated experience in financial and program management within government or defense sectors.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across the team
