Job Title: Corporate Counsel
Experience: 5+ of relevant experience at a major law firm and/or as in-house counsel at a global company.
CAIRE is seeking a detail-oriented attorney with a strong focus on project and task management to join our legal team as Corporate Counsel. This role will play a critical piece in managing compliance initiatives across the organization.
Role Responsibilities:
Support initiatives to ensure organizational compliance with HIPAA, GDPR, and other relevant regulations, including the development and implementation of compliance policies and training programs.
- Draft, review, and help negotiate a variety of contracts, including customer agreements, vendor contracts, distribution agreements, NDAs, etc.
- Manage and oversee CAIRE’s intellectual property portfolio, working with outside counsel where needed, including filings, renewals, maintenance, and enforceability of patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
- Create policies and advise on IP strategy, including IP creation and filing, collaborating with key stakeholders on decisions of when and what to file.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to streamline contract management processes and maintain an organized contract repository.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain effective compliance programs.
- Participate in company-wide initiatives and other discrete projects as needed.
- Conduct internal investigations and manage legal disputes, working closely with the General Counsel, Associate General Counsel, and external counsel when necessary.
- Keep up to date with legislative changes impacting the company’s business and industry.
Required Skills/Background:
- (US) JD from an accredited U.S. law school
- (US) Member of a State Bar in good standing
- Strong academic credentials
- 5+ years of experience as a practicing attorney, with a track record of managing legal projects in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects in a fast-paced environment
- Extreme attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability and willingness to work varying hours to accommodate global workforce, as needed.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage projects independently and lead projects to successful completion, often under tight time constraints and with little or no supervision.
- Team player who welcomes responsibility and thrives in an intense, fast-paced environment.
