Key Responsibilities:
As a Physical Therapist, you will:
- Patient Care (80%):
- Evaluate, plan, direct, and administer physical therapy treatments as prescribed by licensed providers.
- Restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease, or physical disability.
- Assess patient needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Maintain detailed records of patient evaluations, conditions, treatments, and progress.
- Consult with referring providers to establish and adjust treatment goals.
- Provide patient and family education, including instructions for home care and treatment.
- Department Administration (10%):
- Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the department.
- Ensure accurate and timely patient charge entries.
- Maintain departmental records related to operations and personnel.
- Education and Training (10%):
- Develop and deliver individualized teaching plans for patients and families.
- Teach techniques such as muscle re-education, activities of daily living, gait training, and adaptive device usage.
- Participate in staff performance improvement initiatives and educational in-services.
- Assist with orientation and training for new team members.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program.
- Current state licensure to practice physical therapy.
- Current BLS CPR certification.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, neurology, kinesiology, and physical therapy techniques.
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication and patient care skills.
- Ability to apply advanced knowledge of physical therapy techniques effectively.
- Proficiency in creating and implementing treatment plans.
