Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Superintendent to oversee the field operations of mechanical systems installation on construction projects. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety and quality to ensure successful project delivery.


Position Summary:

The Mechanical Superintendent is responsible for managing on-site mechanical work, including HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems. This role requires close collaboration with project managers, subcontractors, and field crews to achieve project goals while maintaining compliance with specifications, schedules, and safety standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise on-site mechanical work, ensuring adherence to project plans and codes.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to plan and execute work efficiently.
  • Manage resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, to meet schedules and budgets.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with safety protocols and quality standards.
  • Address and resolve field issues, providing technical guidance to crews.
  • Monitor progress and prepare daily reports, timekeeping records, and other required documentation.
  • Enforce safety standards, including OSHA regulations, and company policies.
  • Review blueprints and specifications to plan and coordinate work activities.
  • Communicate progress updates and address concerns with all stakeholders.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience supervising mechanical systems on commercial construction projects.
  • Expertise in HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems, with knowledge of codes and best practices.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with safety standards, including OSHA compliance.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with diverse teams.
  • Experience with construction management software is a plus.
