Description:
- Clients Plastics Production Engineering Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Process Engineer.
- The primary responsibility of this role is to lead Plastics’ PE preproduction activities (Part, Equipment and Processing) at the NAMC to ensure successful launch of new product at our manufacturing facilities.
- Reporting to the Process Engineering Manager, the person in this role will support the Plastics department's objective to develop and insure competitive manufacturing processes for the NAMC’s.
- Lead process development projects and will be guding technicians working under them.
- All the equipment will be provided by client except Steel Toed Boots.
Job Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development of specifications for plastic injection processes to support Cleint’s North American Region which support quality improvement, as well as cost and lead time reduction activities.
- Managing New Model Plastics Parts both individually and trough indirect management of a team of Engineers, SEIBI, and NAMC members to support pre-production activities.
- Provide Mentorship and Technical Leadership for Seibi Technicians.
- Lead process development projects at Toyota facilities throughout North America.
- Post SOP/installation monitoring of equipment to ensure sustainability of production KPI’s to help us build better RJ so next project can be better.
- Collaborate across section, department, NAMC, to assure sustainable product throughout the life of the vehicle
- Drive kaizen, innovation, and the Toyota Way philosophy with a lead by example approach in your daily activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering.
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering / technical 2 years degree with some shop floor experience/ B. Tech recent graduates in related field and some co-op experience in engineering.
- Must have - Plastics process manufacturing/Die experience, Project management, Presses, CATIA/3d model software, MS suite.
- Experience with Plastics process manufacturing, including shop floor experience (10)
- Experience with large tonnage low pressure injection molds and processing (10)
- Able to travel up to 50%, able to long term dispatch and able to travel to Japan, Canada, Mexico
- Able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays
- Able to work off-shift hours
- Experience working with the following CATIA modules- Generative Shape Design (GSD) and Part Design (Y/N)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Proficiency PowerPoint
Preferred Skills:
- Advanced Degree (above a Bachelor’s Degree)
- Assembly experience in a manufacturing setting (3)
- Experience with Instrument Panel Processes for Slush, Monofoam, Vibration Welding, Plasma Treatment and/or Trimming (3)
- CAE Model Creation experience, including the ability to create CAE Model from scratch (Y/N)
- Tool and die experience, including experience with pre-production adjustment and tuning (3)
- PLC or robot programming experience (5)
