Job Description

Medical Office Receptionist


We are seeking candidates with experience working in a medical office for a front desk role with a customer in Amherst.

In this position, you will work for a leading medical institution of dedicated specialists who focus on personalized treatment plans and cutting-edge medical technology.

Hours :

  • Mon-Thursday 8:30am – 5:00pm, Fri 8:30am – 1:00pm


Pay :

  • $16+/hour based on experience


Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer telephones and direct calls to appropriate staff.
  • Greet patients, ascertain purpose of visit, check them in or direct them to appropriate staff.
  • Interview patients to complete documents, case histories, or forms, such as intake or insurance forms.
  • Maintain medical records, technical library, or correspondence files through eClinicalWorks.
  • Schedule and confirm patient diagnostic appointments, surgeries, or medical consultations.
  • Complete insurance or other claim forms.
  • Transmit correspondence or medical records by mail, e-mail, or fax.
  • Receive and route messages or documents, such as laboratory results, to appropriate staff.
  • Schedule tests or procedures for patients, such as lab work or x-rays, based on physician orders.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Medical office administrative experience required
  • Experience as a Medical Assistant preferred
  • Experience with eClinicalWorks (ECW) preferred
  • Experience in a Primary Care or Kidney Specialists preferred
