Telecommunications Equipment Installer Level III


Location: Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex


Position Overview:


We are seeking a skilled and experienced Telecommunications Equipment Installer Level III to join our team in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. This role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting telecommunications equipment in Central Offices for Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile, as well as META and AWS Data Centers. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, test, and commission telecommunications equipment such as routers, switches, fiber optics, and power systems in Central Offices and Data Centers.
  • Perform site surveys to assess installation requirements and ensure compliance with customer specifications.
  • Terminate and test copper and fiber optic cables, ensuring connectivity and performance standards are met.
  • Perform system upgrades, including hardware and firmware updates, and integrate new equipment into existing systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to telecommunications equipment, including power supply, cabling, and network configurations.
  • Follow all safety protocols and industry standards while working in Central Offices and Data Centers.
  • Document installation processes, test results, and site conditions using company-approved tools and templates.
  • Collaborate with team members, clients, and vendors to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior installers and support staff.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in telecommunications equipment installation and maintenance.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry standards, including BICSI, NEC, and OSHA guidelines.
  • Proficiency in using test equipment such as OTDRs, power meters, and spectrum analyzers.
  • Experience working in Central Office environments (Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile) and/or Data Centers (META, AWS).
  • Strong understanding of DC power systems, including installation and maintenance of battery systems.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Familiarity with IP networking concepts, including VLANs, QoS, and routing protocols.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to various job sites across the DFW Metroplex.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry certifications such as BICSI Installer, RCDD, or equivalent.
  • Experience with project management tools and practices.
  • Knowledge of environmental systems and cabling in Data Center environments.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working at heights, on ladders, and in confined spaces.
  • Availability for overtime and on-call rotations as needed.
