Job Summary:
We are looking for a talented and driven Workday Finance Implementation Specialist to join our team in Irvine, CA. Reporting to the Director of Administrative Services, you will play a critical role in the implementation of the financial and procurement modules for the new Workday ERP system, transitioning from our previous One-Solution ERP system. This is a high-impact role where you will collaborate closely with finance and technical teams to design and implement efficient workflows that ensure seamless integration and compliance with internal controls and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
System Implementation
- Evaluate current financial policies and procedures to design optimized workflows for the new Workday ERP system, ensuring alignment with internal controls and best practices.
- Work with internal finance teams and external technical experts to assess how system changes will impact workflows, data management, and reporting. Recommend improvements based on insights gathered.
- Collaborate with finance leads to define how key financial data, such as cash balances and balance sheet items, should be integrated into the new system.
- Manage project requirements and ensure smooth tracking of project phases and timelines in collaboration with the implementation teams.
Training & Development
- Partner with the Director of Administrative Services to oversee the training and testing of finance and procurement modules prior to system launch.
- Develop and deliver comprehensive training materials, including user guides and job aids, for finance and procurement staff, ensuring training is prepared for both in-person and online delivery.
Reporting & Documentation
- Work with key finance and procurement leads to define reporting needs from the new system and ensure reporting capabilities align with organizational goals.
- Create easy-to-follow job aids to empower users to generate accurate and efficient reports.
- Develop detailed documentation for the finance and procurement modules to ensure clear understanding and efficient use of the system.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field preferred. IT experience or education is also acceptable.
Experience:
- Extensive experience with the implementation of Workday ERP, particularly transitioning from One-Solution ERP.
- Advanced hands-on knowledge of Workday software, as well as One-Solution ERP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong technical acumen.
- Proven leadership and team management experience, with the ability to guide teams through complex system implementations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and build lasting relationships.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Fluency in English, with effective communication skills required.
Additional Requirements:
- Experience with similar ERP implementations in other departments is highly encouraged.
- Ability to be onsite in Irvine, CA, 5 days per week.
