Overview


This position is responsible for efficiently designing, managing, testing, implementing, and completing projects in a timely manner while meeting or exceeding project specifications and budget requirements. As an Electrical/Control System Engineer II, you will work in all areas of project implementation including project management, panel design, hardware selection, vendor/end user/consultant interaction, programming, testing, and site support. You will work with relay and PLC based control panel designs including schematics, panel layouts, and bill of material. You will perform design analysis including fuse sizing, breaker sizing, wire sizing, and short circuit analysis.


Responsibilities


  • Design electrical control panels and systems to meet project specifications and division design standards.
  • Coordinate with panel production personnel in the fabrication of control panels.
  • Develop procedures and plans for factory and field testing of control panels and systems.
  • Develop PLC and HMI applications per project specifications and across multiple platforms using division/industry standards and best practices.
  • Program complex sequences including lead/lag and cascade PID control systems.
  • Manage multiple projects following company procedures and guidelines.
  • Coordination of projects to meet expected deliverable goals for quality, schedule, and budget.
  • Direct activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements.
  • Perform “3-Way Check” of Control Panel Drawings.
  • Coordinate operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems in field installations.
  • Technical document writing including Testing Procedures, Training Plans and Sequence of Operations Notify Project Managers and Group Managers of schedule/budget goals issues.
  • Request quotes from vendors and verify quoted equipment meets specification requirements.
  • Attend training and continuing education related to industry.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.


Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or Computer Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Basic computer software skills using Microsoft Office Suite, E-Mail, Internet, AutoCAD.
  • Minimum of Five (5) to Seven (7) years’ related work experience in related field.
  • Demonstrate a willingness and ability to learn technical skills.
  • Self-motivated and have a proven ability to assume primary responsibility for intermediate projects with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge and experience with specialized tools and test equipment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to interact with customers, vendors, company employees and subcontractors.
