Job Title: Clinical Director

Supervises: Clinical Staff, Case Management

Reports to: Executive Director 

 

 

Position Summary : The person in this position will be responsible for overseeing all treatment programs (Day Treatment, Intensive Outpatient and Outpatient) and supervising all staff providing treatment. He/she will supervise the coordination of services with outside community agencies or consultants. In addition to staff supervision, this position requires oversight and completion of all required weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly reports/data for all programs. The person in this position will be responsible for ensuring staff follow all contract, accreditation, licensing and payor requirements, policies and procedures as well as assist the Executive Director in program and policy development. Essential Job Functions include those listed below. Other duties may be assigned as needed. 


Essential Job Functions: 

  • Supervise and direct all treatment staff in daily implementation of treatment programs 
  • Work in partnership with the Program Director to direct and support the daily operations of the outpatient treatment center.
  • Review each clinical employee’s job performance on a yearly basis or more often if necessary. Make recommendations to the Executive Director regarding employee advancement and retention.
  • Interview, hire and terminate employees with advice and consent from Executive Director and other staff as appropriate. 
  • Conduct training/identify training facilitators for all staff.
  • Review and approve of all clinical documentation, providing additional training, technical assistance and support to clinical staff as needed.
  • Develop staff work schedules and assign responsibilities to ensure all treatment program services are being provided as contracts require 
  • Analyze situations and take necessary actions to provide crisis intervention. 
  • Interpret and implement Evergreen Behavioral policies and procedures regarding crisis intervention as appropriate. 
  • Ensure completion of monthly billing for those treatment programs requiring monthly billing.
  • Ensure completion of all weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly reports as required.
  • Complete quality improvements and implementation as required by treatment program contracts, accreditation and licensing entities. 
  • Responsible for all aspects of treatment for all clients participating in treatment services.
  • Coordinate client treatment, provide group and individual counseling.
  • Periodic review of treatment group curriculum.
  • Assist and make recommendations to Executive Director regarding program design, development, and implementation of treatment and transitional programs 
  • Perform chart audits and file reviews on a weekly basis, initiating corrective action as needed. Report to Executive Director any unusual incidents or behaviors that could indicate other problems.
  • Attend regular professional education classes/workshops to continuously upgrade job skills or promote the image of the agency.
  • Insure that all required policies and procedures of Evergreen Behavioral are followed. 
  • Assist Executive Director in program and policy development.


Essential Qualifications: 

• Maintain the highest ethical and professional standard as to clients and employees 

• Ability to avoid all dual relationships with clients (any personal, financial, business, social or sexual relationship or other activity outside the context of the traditional therapist-client relationship) 

• Meet all state and federal laws, regulations, and guidelines in provision of client services 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

• Outstanding critical thinking and creative problem solving skills 

• Ability to work independently 

• High level of initiative 

• Ability to manage, direct and lead a treatment team 

• Professional demeanor 


Education

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, counseling or equivalent social services field 
  • Hold licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or CDAC II
  • Minimum 3 years experience working in social services field i.e., substance abuse, residential treatment, etc.
  • Minimum 1 year providing supervision in a clinical setting.
