The Portland VA needs certified Generalist MTs to join the GhostRx team!

GhostRx/Veterans' Affairs Contract Opportunity!!

*Contract *- Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Laboratory Scientist

*Location* - Portland VAMC - VA Portland Healthcare System, Portland, Oregon

*Pay* - Up to $3006/week for travel. $50-55/HR for Locals

*Taxable *- $35.62/HR ($1424.80/week based off of 40 hours)

*Stipend* - Up to $1792/week non taxable (based on 40 hours) ($182/day lodging + $74/day meals)

*Duration* - Contract thru 8/31/2025, with extension options. Minimum 13 weeks. You control the length of assignment.

*Shift* - The right candidate will be working either 5/8's or 4/10's overnight shift. The shift will end at 8AM each working day. Holidays and weekend coverage (1-2 weekends a month)

*Onboarding process* - Approximately 6 weeks to start, due to Federal background checks being 100% cleared.

*Credentialing Detail*s - We need the following documents to build your application:
* ASCP MT certification or AMT CLS or MLS. This site may take ASCP MLT, if the MLT has a four year degree, or leadership experience within the lab
* Shot records including MMR, Varicella, HepB, negTB, Flu, Tdap
* Three professional healthcare references including names, numbers, titles, and where you worked together
* Four-year BS degree in MT or related science field is required.

*YOU MUST HAVE LIVED IN THE US FOR THE PAST THREE YEARS TO QUALIFY FOR VA CONTRACTS.*

*Notes* - This contract is guaranteed through 08/2025. Possibility of 6m extensions post 8/2025.
* The VA is looking for a Generalist with experience working in multiple disciplines

*Tasks/Duties:*
- Perform laboratory tests and analyze results for accuracy and reliability
- Prepare specimens and samples for testing
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments
- Follow standard operating procedures and safety protocols
- Document and report test results accurately
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to interpret test results and provide recommendations
- Maintain quality control measures to ensure accuracy of test results
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in medical technology and laboratory techniques

*Skills:*
- Proficient in veterinary terminology and understanding of animal anatomy and physiology
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and procedures
