Controller – Family Office 9964
Our client is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Family Office Controller to oversee the financial operations of our family office.
Responsibilities
Implement and maintain proper internal controls and segregation of duties within the accounting system and department.
Establishes accounting policies and procedures that enhance the efficiency of accounting processes while incorporating best practices.
Manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial statement preparation.
Conducts thorough reviews of schedules and documentation prepared by the accounting staff for all 150+ entities.
Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to family members and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
Conducts comprehensive reviews of complex transactions to ensure proper documentation and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Assist and/or oversee all financial operations of the family office, encompassing budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
Collaborate with external auditors and Investment Controller for all audited companies.
Assist with special projects and initiatives as directed by the family office leadership.
Manage and mentor a small accounting team, providing guidance and fostering a collaborative work environment. Maintains confidentiality for all corporate, stakeholder, personnel and research matters.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
CPA Required
Minimum of 5+ years as a controller OR
5+ years of experience at a large company as an assistant controller
Company must have internal controls
Family office experience is NOT required
If they have worked for a family office operating company (versus the family office side), that would be preferred
