We are seeking a passionate and experienced DevOps Transformation Lead to guide our organization through a comprehensive DevOps transformation, with a special focus on leveraging coding dojos to build technical expertise, foster collaboration, and drive continuous improvement across our engineering teams. This role will be instrumental in creating a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence as we evolve our software delivery practices to meet the demands of modern, scalable, and automated infrastructures.

As a DevOps Transformation Lead , you will work closely with leadership and engineering teams to design, implement, and scale our DevOps initiatives while mentoring and coaching teams through hands-on, dojo-style learning sessions. Your role will blend strategic leadership , technical guidance , and practical learning to shape our DevOps culture and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the DevOps Transformation Journey :
  • Oversee and drive the organization’s transition to modern DevOps practices, focusing on automation, continuous integration, continuous delivery (CI/CD), and infrastructure as code (IaC).
  • Facilitate Coding Dojos :
  • Plan, organize, and lead DevOps coding dojos where cross-functional teams collaborate to solve real-world technical challenges, improve coding skills, and apply best practices in automation, monitoring, and infrastructure management.
  • Mentorship and Coaching :
  • Provide mentorship to engineering teams, helping them build their DevOps knowledge, problem-solving capabilities, and teamwork skills. Guide teams in pair programming, collaborative coding, and real-time feedback sessions within the dojo format.
  • Build a Continuous Learning Culture :
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement through hands-on learning sessions, knowledge sharing, and regular retrospectives to drive technical growth, innovation, and process optimization.
  • Collaborate with Leadership and Teams :
  • Work closely with senior leadership, engineering managers, and other stakeholders to align DevOps transformation goals with business objectives. Provide regular updates on the progress of the transformation initiatives.
  • DevOps Process and Tooling Enhancement :
  • Work with teams to evaluate and implement DevOps tools and technologies that enhance automation, monitoring, collaboration, and version control. Champion the adoption of industry best practices in CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, containerization, and security.
  • Identify and Solve Key Challenges :
  • Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in existing DevOps workflows. Facilitate technical discussions and dojos to address pain points and foster innovative solutions.
  • Measure and Track Success :
  • Define success metrics for the DevOps transformation (e.g., deployment frequency, lead time, change failure rate, MTTR). Track and report progress against key performance indicators (KPIs) to leadership.
  • Drive Cross-Team Collaboration :
  • Encourage collaboration between development, operations, and QA teams to break down silos, improve cross-functional communication, and foster a more integrated DevOps approach.

Key Qualifications:

  • Experience in DevOps Transformation :
  • Proven experience leading large-scale DevOps transformations in an enterprise or complex environment, with deep expertise in automation, continuous integration, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Hands-on DevOps Expertise :
  • In-depth knowledge of DevOps tools and technologies, including but not limited to Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, Git, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Coaching and Mentorship :
  • Experience mentoring engineering teams, with a focus on fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Comfortable in a hands-on, interactive coaching role.
  • Strong Facilitation Skills :
  • Ability to effectively facilitate coding dojo sessions, hackathons, and workshops. Ability to lead teams through challenging technical exercises in a collaborative and constructive manner.
  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Thinking :
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to deconstruct complex technical problems and guide teams through innovative solutions in a dojo environment.
  • Excellent Communication Skills :
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Agile Methodology Experience :
  • Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments, with a solid understanding of Agile practices and how they intersect with DevOps principles.
