Job Description
OVERVIEW

As an engineer at Aaru, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining our cutting-edge simulation engines. You will collaborate with our research and engineering teams to develop novel approaches to solving fundamental problems within our domain of prediction and build robust, scalable, and user-friendly applications that drive our technologies forward.


RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and optimize simulation models, including designing experiments, analyzing results, and improving accuracy, speed, and consistency.
  • Conduct novel research, implement innovative approaches, and document findings internally while publishing research papers externally.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including backend, frontend, and researchers, to integrate, deploy, and maintain solutions.
  • Design, build, and maintain responsive front-end interfaces (React), server-side logic (Node.js, FastAPI), and RESTful APIs.
  • Manage databases for efficient data storage and retrieval while addressing performance bottlenecks and ensuring security compliance.
  • Implement testing strategies, including unit and integration tests, and manage deployment pipelines to ensure robust applications.


REQUIREMENTS
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript, Typescript, Python, or similar languages
  • Experience with frontend and backend frameworks and libraries
  • Interested in the practical application of artificial intelligence for simulation and modeling, and care deeply about Aaru’s mission to simulate the future at a global scale
  • Familiarity with database technologies
  • Capability to flex between different projects across platform development, model research, and other engineering initiatives
  • Willing to work in person in our office in New York, NY


STRONG CANDIDATES MAY ALSO
  • Have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, statistics, math, or a similar field, with a master’s or other advanced degree also preferred
  • Have publications at venues such as ICLR, NeurIPS, ICML, etc.
  • Have experience in language models and agents
  • Have 2+ years of experience
