24-hour in-house shifts with rest opportunities (may split into two 12-hour shifts if necessary). 16-hour weekday shifts (Mon-Fri) and 24-hour weekend shifts (Sat-Sun). Independently attend deliveries, resuscitate, and stabilize sick newborns. Admissions Level 3 NICU patients, including vented patients (jet ventilators). Coordinate transfers for therapeutic hypothermia, cardiac or surgical needs, specialist evaluations, or severe pulmonary hypertension. Round with a physician daily; complete notes for co-signing. Ensure high-quality care for NICU (current census: 4-8, max 20) and well-baby units (census: 8-14). Current VA License, DEA, and NRP certification. Experience in neonatal care, resuscitation, and stabilization is required; new graduates will not be considered.
