TITLE: Shipping & Receiving Lead

REPORTS TO: Operations Manager


About the Position:

The Shipping & Receiving Lead is responsible for the following:

Logistics Management – Utilizing Freight logistics and inventory software to coordinate freight scheduling and deliveries while finding opportunities to reduce freight costs. Management of shipping documents. Responsible for final QC of all outgoing shipments.

Warehouse/ Inventory management– Coordination and fulfillment of all aspects in shipping and receiving including freight logistics, order picking, palletizing, and customer service while meeting production schedules.


Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordination of freight logistics including scheduling freight and deliveries while reducing freight cost by ensuring shipments are sent at the most competitive rate.
  • Utilization of various software for freight scheduling, inventory control, and label making.
  • Ensures all orders are picked, checked, packed, and shipped accurately, before or on the requested date.
  • Management of shipping documents including shipping labels, packing slips, MSDS, and bills of lading.
  • Providing customer service support when required.
  • Coordinate shipments with sales and customer.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with freight carriers.
  • Compliance with all processes and procedures.
  • Responsible for final QC of outgoing products.
  • Expedite material deliveries
  • Coordination and fulfilment of all warehouse duties in this department including order picking, palletizing, inventory control, and facility cleanliness. Caretaker for all material, stock, and production in the facility.
  • Receive and inspect materials. Inspect outgoing shipments to verify count and quality.
  • Ensure all personnel rosters, ensure SOP’s are followed, duties, coordinate
  • daily activities, shipping documents, logistics, forklift operations,
  • housekeeping, safety, receiving, assist with production
  • coordinating, paperwork, QA, order filling.
  • Making sure to meet production schedules, and maintains production levels that meet the company standard.
  • Performance of all other job functions within the department and
  • additional duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics & Supply Chain Management (preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience in related job functions
  • Oral & Written Communication Skills
  • Capacity to solve complex problems
  • Planning & Time Management
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend and climb
  • Capability of lifting up to 75 lbs. on a regular basis
