Overview

As the Agile Coach, you will play a crucial role in leading large scale Agile transformations and the implementation of Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) throughout our Fortune 500 healthcare client’s Digital Platform and Enterprise Data portfolios. You will work with Software Engineering Leaders and business stakeholders in coaching teams within the SAFe framework, including Scrum, Kanban, and Lean Portfolio Management. This role requires expertise in Lean Agile processes and tools like Jira Align.

Responsibilities

• Lead Agile transformations and the implementation of Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) with a focus on achieving meaningful business outcomes.
• Build strong relationships with business partners and stakeholders, including Engineering Leaders, to ensure alignment and collaboration.
• Coach and mentor Release Train Engineers (RTEs) and Scrum Masters to enhance Agile maturity within their teams.
• Utilize Jira Align to support Agile coaching and provide insights into Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) practices.
• Collaborate with Portfolio Leads, Product Management, Product Owners, Release Train Engineers, and Scrum Masters to establish Lean Agile routines and practices.
• Implement Lean Agile, including Kanban management, Scaled Agile Value Stream Mapping, Train Program Increment planning and execution, Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD), DevOps, and automation.
• Train leaders and teams at all levels to set Agile strategy and articulate the benefits of Agile practices.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and alignment between teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Prior professional experience specifically as an Agile Coach, driving Agile transformations within large enterprise organizations.
• Experience implementing and coaching Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) processes to leaders.
• 2+ years of experience using Jira Align to support Agile initiatives.
• Possess strong leadership skills with a passion for teaching and mentoring.
• Experience in coaching and training within the Agile framework (portfolio, program, and team levels).
• Expertise in facilitating core Agile practices, including Kanban, Value Stream Mapping, feature and story backlog prioritization and grooming, Release planning (Program Increment), Iteration/Sprint planning, Metrics, Story distribution practices, and Agile ceremonies.
• Deep knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework, Lean, and Product Development Flow principals.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to empathize with individuals new to Agile methodologies.
• Working knowledge of Application Lifecycle and Agile Management tools.

Preferred Certifications

• SAFe Practice Consultant (SPC) certification and proven experience leading Agile transformations.
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification and experience.
• PROSCI certification and experience with change management.
