Seeking a Mechanical Project Coordinator
90 day contract to direct hire
M-F / Hybrid
The Mechanical Project Coordinator is the primary technical point of contact for the Customer and for the internal project team. The main function is to successfully lead the project team in the execution of the project by ensuring the delivery of quality deliverables, maintaining budget, schedule, and identify scope changes as they arise.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the Director of Project Management to develop project objectives by reviewing proposals and schedules.
- Identify and promote the close out of project Action Items.
- Attend and lead Project Reviews and Meetings (Design Review, PHA’s, Weekly Meetings, etc).
- Take and/or review meeting minutes from project meetings.
- Determine and assign deliverables and responsibilities by identifying project specific scopes of work.
- Identify Scope Changes or Additions and communicate with the project team to develop the associated Management of Change documents.
- Develop MS Project schedule, based on estimates and input from all engineering disciplines .
- Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems.
- Monitor and maintain project cost control documentation
- Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Review of Vendor Quotes, Develop Technical Bid Evaluations, and Perform Clarifications.
- Capacity to develop and redline P&IDs and PFDs.
- Review and coordinate vendor documentation to ensure that the appropriate discipline reviewers are included on Squad Checks, and that the returned comments are complete and encompassing of the overall design objective.
- Provide technical input and interface for Engineering and Design deliverables including the production of some discipline specific deliverables
- Ensure adherence to and implementation of Company Standard Operation Procedures.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years as a Mechanical Engineer
- Interested in transitioning into a Project Coordinator and eventually PM role.
- Experience with Vessel fabrications, Data Sheets, Sizing, Developing and Redline P&IDs & PFDs
- Experience with MS Project for scheduling.
- 1+ years in OIL & GAS/Plant Industry
- Engineering Degree Required
