Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and planning for a broad range of landscape architecture projects, including private land development, multi-family residential, mixed-use developments, commercial and industrial properties, local and state government facilities, universities, K-12 schools, parks and recreational areas, athletic facilities, and urban streetscapes.
  • Produce high-quality design visuals using industry-standard software, including AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator, Lumion, and others.
  • Prepare clear and concise written documents, including design narratives, technical specifications, meeting minutes, site observations, and permit applications.
  • Communicate design intent effectively to clients, colleagues, contractors, and at public meetings through strong verbal and presentation skills.
  • Manage various project phases, from master planning, programming, and schematic design to design development, construction documents, bidding, and construction administration.
  • Prepare cost estimates for projects and oversee construction inspections related to landscape architecture scope.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited institution.
  • Strong desire to pursue licensure as a Professional Landscape Architect in Kentucky, working under the guidance of a licensed Landscape Architect. Licensure is preferred but not required.
  • Prior experience in the landscape architecture field, particularly in the areas listed in the Key Responsibilities, is highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex design concepts clearly and professionally.
  • Proficiency in a variety of design software tools, including AutoCAD, SketchUp, Lumion, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while taking initiative and managing individual project responsibilities.
  • Reliable references that can verify experience and quality of work.
