Job Description

KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) provides holistic and value-added solutions across the entire asset life cycle. These include world-class licensed process technologies, differentiated advisory services, deep technical domain expertise, energy transition solutions, high-end design capabilities, and smart solutions to optimize planned and operating assets.

KBR is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to plan, schedule, and conduct work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. Performs work which involves conventional engineering practice but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult coordination requirements. Provides technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers. Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations. Requires sufficient professional experience to assure competence as a fully trained professional. Work requires a broad knowledge of precedents. Also, may be responsible for leadership of a functional area on a small project or a segment of a larger project.


Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:


  • Responsible for design, specification, selection and services relating to mechanical equipment such as rotating machinery, pressure vessels, atmospheric storage tanks, fired and unfired heat transfer equipment, utility equipment, packaged units, material handling and solids processing systems.
  • May also include design, specification, selection and services of mechanical systems for buildings such as gases, fluids, and heating, ventilating, air conditioning and vertical transportation.



Required Education, Experience, & Skills:


  • Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • EIT certification preferred, PE a plus
  • Experience with DuPont/Chemours preferred
  • Minimum of 4 years related experience, with average experience ranging from 5-10 years.
