Position: Director of Strategy

Reports To: Executive Director, Account Services

Status: Full-Time Position

Location: Irvine, CA


Position Summary

The Director of Strategy will drive the development of integrated marketing and brand strategies for clients across diverse industries, including healthcare, finance, technology, and higher education. This role requires a visionary leader with a proven ability to translate innovative ideas into actionable strategies that achieve measurable results. The Director of Strategy will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of both client projects and the agency itself during an unprecedented period of growth at TRAFFIK.


Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of comprehensive brand and product marketing strategies for B2B and B2C clients, including go-to-market plans.
  • Provide strategic oversight on all client engagements, ensuring alignment with business objectives and marketing KPIs.
  • Synthesize quantitative and qualitative data, industry trends, and audienc behaviors to uncover actionable insights.
  • Conduct in-depth research, including primary methods like focus groups and surveys, as well as secondary desk research.
  • Oversee the production of competitive audits, content audits, audience personas, KPI frameworks, brand evaluations, and business briefs.
  • Craft creative briefs that effectively bridge strategic goals with creative execution.
  • Lead client presentations with clear, data-driven insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Foster long-term client relationships through strategic counsel and by proactively identifying growth opportunities.
  • Monitor and analyze campaign performance, delivering iterative recommendations for improvement based on performance metrics.
  • Partner with internal teams across creative, media, and production to ensure strategic alignment throughout project lifecycles.
  • Act as a thought leader and mentor for junior strategists, fostering professiona growth within the team.
  • Contribute to new business development efforts by providing strategic insights and solutions for prospective clients.
  • Help shape the strategic vision for TRAFFIK, ensuring the agency remains at the forefront of marketing innovation.


Employment Standards


Education & Experience

10+ years of experience in strategy roles within advertising, marketing, or related fields, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.


Skills

  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing impactful marketing strategies across multiple industries.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to distill complex data into clear insights and narratives.
  • Exceptional leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to inspire and elevate team performance.
  • Expertise in integrated marketing, including digital, social, direct mail, and multi-channel campaigns.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with marketing analytics tools.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the healthcare industry or similarly regulated sectors.
  • Leadership experience with a proven ability to influence organizational strategy.
  • Deep understanding of emerging marketing trends and technologies.


Job Type: Full-time


Pay: $110,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
