Job Description

JOB FUNCTION:

The Director of Human Resources will serve as a strategic partner to leaders, providing HR expertise and support in areas such as employee relations, performance management, and organizational development. This position will work with management to develop and implement HR strategies that align with the company’s goals and objectives.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of HR professionals, fostering collaboration within the team to deliver support to the organization
  •  Collaborate with business leaders to understand their goals and challenges, and provide HR solutions that support business objectives
  • Serve as a resource to managers and leaders by responding to questions, interpretation of Employee Handbook policies/procedures and assist in resolving work-related matters
  • Lead investigations when complaints or concerns are brought forth
  • Provide guidance and assistance in the disciplinary action process by making recommendations on the appropriate level of corrective action
  • Collaborate with other HR leadership and assist with strategic planning that helps the organization achieve its overarching goals
  • Assist with the development and administration of programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company
  • Maintain employee data and utilize HR software (HRIS)
  • Maintain positive working relationships with other departments through ongoing communication
  • Partner with management to communicate policies, procedures, programs, and laws
  • Recommend employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of HR best practices
  • Protect the interests of employees and the company in accordance with company policies and governmental laws and regulations
  • Identify and analyze HR data to identify trends and make decisions
  • All other duties or projects as assigned


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a closely related field or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Strong knowledge of applicable state and federal Human Resources laws and practices required
  • Knowledge and application of Human Resources principles and practices
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Experience leading, coaching and motivating others
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize work effectively
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive data

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years of HR experience, with a focus on strategic planning and employee relations
  • Experience providing HR support for a multi-state employer
  • HR certification
