Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Control Systems Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of automated control systems. The role requires hands-on expertise in electrical, mechanical, and control systems, ensuring that machinery and processes operate efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain control systems, including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, and other automation equipment.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues in control systems, electrical components, and process equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on control systems and related equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to design, test, and implement system improvements or modifications.
- Document system configurations, maintenance schedules, and service records.
- Provide technical support and training to other team members or operators as needed.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot potential system faults to minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Assist with the setup and testing of new equipment and control system upgrades.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Automation, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience working with control systems, PLCs, and industrial automation equipment.
- Strong understanding of electrical circuits, sensors, actuators, and instrumentation.
- Familiarity with programming languages for PLCs (e.g., ladder logic, function block, structured text).
- Experience with SCADA systems and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) software.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Knowledge of safety standards and procedures for working with industrial equipment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
