We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Manager to oversee and execute programs supporting our collaboration with the National Institutes of Health. This role involves leading diverse program activities, including staffing, budgeting, scheduling, and fostering strong client relationships. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in program management within scientific research, clinical environments, or federal agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Oversight:
- Plan, execute, and manage program activities to achieve established goals and milestones.
- Ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, and performance metrics.
Staffing and Team Leadership:
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and management of program staff.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
Budgeting and Resource Allocation:
- Develop, monitor, and manage program budgets to ensure efficient use of resources.
- Track expenditures and prepare financial reports for stakeholders.
Scheduling and Workflow Coordination:
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
- Identify and mitigate risks impacting project timelines and outcomes.
Client and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for one or more Institutes at NIH.
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with clients and partners.
Program Evaluation and Reporting:
- Conduct regular program evaluations to assess effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare and deliver progress reports to internal and external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a health or scientific research field, at least ten (10) years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in program management, including contract management, staffing and people management, budgeting, scheduling, and client interaction.
- Preferred Experience:
- Experience working in scientific research, clinical environments, or federal agencies.
- Familiarity with health disparity projects or programs.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
- Experience leading programs from contract start-up to contract close out.
- Strong financial and organizational acumen.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Work Environment:
This role will involve a combination of on-site and remote work. Occasional travel to client sites may be required.
