Business Intelligence Analyst
Hybrid Position based out of our Boston, MA or NYC Office Locations
Role Overview
The Business Analyst role is essential for transforming data into actionable insights to drive business growth for our clients and supporting our sales efforts to match technical expertise with business acumen. The successful Business Analyst will collaborate closely with Solutions Architects to identify business trends for scaling data-driven support.
As a Business Analyst , you will bridge the gap between our client’s business needs, our technical capabilities, and the strategic goals of the product development team.
Responsibilities
Client-Focused Delivery
- Analytical Expertise : Provide ongoing analytical and technical support and guidance to our internal teams (and as a result, our clients), helping them to optimize our tools, leverage our vast data, and analytics platform.
- Pattern Identification: Track recurring patterns in data asks from internal and external teams to identify areas where we can further optimize our reporting tools and automated data delivery.
- Scaled, Automated Reporting: Own creating and maintaining ongoing automated reporting to support our internal teams.
Pre-Sales Support
- Client Engagement : Support the sales team by engaging with potential clients to understand their needs and demonstrate how our solutions can solve their challenges.
- Analytical Storytelling : Leverage our best-in-class data assets and an understanding of a prospect’s business goals in order to deliver insights and recommendations.
- Proposal Development : Collaborate with the sales and solutions teams to develop proposals, including technical solutions, analytical insights, and strategic recommendations.
Collaboration with Development Teams
- Tool Productionalization : Work closely with the software development team to refine and scale tools that have been successfully piloted or proven in client engagements.
- Technical Documentation : Create detailed architectural and technical documentation to guide both internal teams and client stakeholders in the use and deployment of our solutions.
What We Look For – The Ideal Profile
- Experience : 1-3 years of experience in data analysis or equivalent field. Bonus if it’s within the retail analytics or marketing analytics industry!
- Exploratory Data Analysis: Proficiency in working with data through common means such as SQL, as well as analysis tools such as Excel and Google Sheets.
- Analytical Prowess: Proven ability to leverage data to solve client problems, understand opportunities, and deliver insights.
- Translation Capabilities: Ability to present complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Software/Scripting: Proficiency in at least one scripting or development language (ideally Python) and relevant frameworks/libraries (ideally Pandas)
- Client-Facing Skills : Demonstrated ability to engage with and influence senior stakeholders, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Sales Acumen : Experience working in pre-sales environments, helping to drive deals by translating technical capabilities into business value.
- Collaboration : Proven ability to work cross-functionally with sales, client services, and software development teams.
- Problem-Solving : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing client needs.
