Job Title: Product Owner - Authorization and Transaction Fraud Strategy
Job Description:
We are looking for a Product Owner to join our Authorization and Transaction Fraud Strategy product team. This role will help onboard emerging payment methodologies with enriched authorization data. You will frequently interact with network, card wallet, technology, business strategy, and risk/compliance teams to enable this new wallet solution and ensure client is the top wallet option for consumers. This role is critical to support the right capability and technology solutions to ensure a superior customer shopping experience while keeping fraud under control.
Skills We Are Looking For:
Product:
- Leverage technology and analytics solutions to build practical solutions for new payment methods.
- Understand the context of fraudulent behavior at different decision points.
- Explain product usage in real-world scenarios and evaluate the impact on existing authorization flows and fraud control processes at both aggregated and transactional levels.
Process:
- Detail-oriented with a desire to understand end-to-end authorization flows.
- Understand the original intention of fraudulent behavior, compliance/regulation requirements, and business/technology capabilities and limitations.
- Good communication and process management skills to work with compliance teams, upstream business and technology partners, and downstream implementation and operation teams for process changes and updates.
Technology and Analytical Skills:
- Experienced in API solutions within OpenShift Container Platform (OCP).
- Bridge business needs and technical execution, ensuring high-quality delivery of API functionalities that align with enterprise architecture and business objectives.
- Strong analytical thinking and SQL skills to investigate transaction details for ad-hoc requests or issues at both transaction and aggregated levels.
- Business acumen to transfer real-world case scenarios to data analysis and propose improvements.
- Willing to delve into decision services’ logic and make changes if necessary.
- Ability to explore data and research unknowns.
- Understand high-level BT architecture guiding principles and structure to manage SDLC processes and support business solution rollouts.

What You’ll Do:
- Ensure an outcome for a product that meets the requests from stakeholders and customers.
- Understand the business and its constraints (financial, marketing, compliance, legal, service, customer environment, technical capabilities, user experience, etc.) to provide a solution that satisfies all stakeholders and customers.
How You’ll Do It:
- Interact and collaborate with stakeholders on key product considerations and align with product vision, features, and roadmap.
- Leverage customer insights, feedback, financials, compliance, and risk data to define product features and roadmap in partnership with other SMEs.
- Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) for the product team and ensure alignment with senior leadership.
- Create and/or maintain key product documentation (e.g., customer journey map, technical specs, process mapping, etc.).
- Identify and define key non-functional requirements (e.g., security, availability, performance, etc.) to achieve necessary product metrics.
- Own the definition of Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and features/user stories for the delivery product roadmap.
- Build and prioritize the product backlog to achieve OKRs and continuously keep it up to date.
- Hold meetings with the product team to continuously update the product backlog.
- Ensure product features and processes align with applicable compliance and risk management standards.
- Ensure the product adheres to the highest quality standards, including releasing security patches not linked to customers.
- Define functional and non-functional product requirements; ensure completeness, integrity, and consistency; source requirements for the product team.
- Create and validate user story acceptance criteria.
- Define and ensure appropriate testing frameworks for product features (e.g., market testing, functional performance, etc.).
- Work with Data stewards in their respective LOBs to ensure required data quality controls are identified and implemented.
- Inspect and evaluate product progress through each iteration.
- Partner with business technology to create technical features required to continuously optimize system components and underlying infrastructure maintenance.
- Build a culture of accountability and ownership by empowering the product team to make decisions as close to the work as possible.
- Manage dependencies with other teams' functions while identifying, building, and managing strategic partnerships across different product teams.
